DAVAO CITY - Several business leaders expressed high hopes that the Philippine economy will further flourish under President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, as the tough-talking executive’s vow to make the Philippines crime-free is expected to encourage investment flow.
Rodrigo Duterte, who won in the election on a platform of peace and order, has vowed to implement nationwide Davao City’s system of responding to crimes and other emergencies.
Business delegates were left impressed after paying a visit to the southern Philippine city’s Central 911 and Public Safety and Security Command Center.
Guillermo Luz, chair of the National Competitiveness Council, told ABS-CBN News that “We’re so impressed…I get to see a lot of operations center around the world and this is impressive, very impressive,”.
The headquarters of the city’s own version of Emergency 911 houses several rescue vehicles, including a huge bus capable of ferrying as much as 17 people at a given time.
