DURERTE: NO MEDIA COVERAGE ON HIS THANKSGIVING IN CEBU



DAVAO CITY -  President-elect Rodrigo Duterte is expected to leave Davao City today (06 June 2016) and go to Cebu City to attend a private thanksgiving party conducted by hus supportes. This will be the first time he will leave his bailiwick after almost a month.

Duterte remained in Davao City since election day on May 9 2016, where he has been receiving supporters and well-wishers as did not attend his own proclamation as elected President in Congress last week.

Ian Cruz, told by a source of GMA News that a thanksgiving party will be held tonight in Cebu and hosted by his supporters.

Duterte’s executive assistant Christopher "Bong" Go said media coverage may not be allowed during the party. In a SMS (text message) received by GMA News.

“Ma’am, baka no coverage,” he said.

Rodrigo Duterte earlier announced that he will no longer grant media interviews and press conferences. All announcements will be made through state-owned People's Television Network (PTV-4).

Duterte visited Cebu four times including a meeting with his former wife Elizabeth Zimmerman for her birthday celebration during the campaign period.

Family members, including his son Baste, Zimmerman and daughter, Sara, also went around the province in a caravan called Byaheng Du30 campaigning for Rodrigo.

Duterte's roots can be traced to Danao City, Cebu where his father Vicente Duterte served as mayor. The President-elect Rodrigo Duterte earned over a million votes in the province.
