MORE ENVOYS, EXECS PAY COURTESY CALL ON PRESIDENT-ELECT RODRIGO DUTERTE


DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The board of directors of the United States-Philippine Society led those who paid a courtesy call on President-elect Rodrigo Duterte yesterday (25 June 2016) night at the Malacanang of the South in Davao City.

Former US ambassadors to the Philippines John Negroponte and Thomas Hubbard led the US-Philippine Society officers, together with Manuel Pangilinan, chief executive officer of First Pacific Company Ltd. and who co-chairs the group with Negroponte.

Ambassador to the US Jose Cuisia was also with the group, and so were Washington Sycip, John Maisto, Hank Hendrickson, Jose Eduardo Antonio, Gerardo Borromeo, Stephen Braim, Marty Crotty, Bernerd Da Santos, Ramon Del Rosario, Hilda Gigioli, Henry Howard, Loida Nicolas Lewis, Roberto Llames, Charles Taylor, Cirilo Noel, Jeffrey Peterson, Luis Pineda, Davil Rappa, Ganen Sarvananthan, MagesvaranSuran Suranjan, Shankar Viswanathan, Michael Klecheski, Lucille Ferraren, Veron Gabaldon, Adel Tamano, Amella Dimapilis and Richie Cuerva.

Also with the US-Philippine Society group during the visit were Ricky Vargas, chief transformation officer of the PLDT Group of Companies; Patrick Gregorio, senior vice president of Maynilad; Mike Toledo, senior vice president of Philex Mining; and Abet Dungo, Pangilinan’s executive assistant.

Society officials also met with incoming Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III and discussed the Duterte administration’s 10-point socio-economic agenda.

Duterte also received French Ambassador Thierry Mathou and Norwegian Ambassador Erik Forner on that same night.

The US-Philippine Society is a private sector initiative for broadening and expanding interaction and understanding between the two countries through basic research and/or applied research in the areas of security, trade, investments, tourism, the environment, history, education and culture.

Duterte also received members of the Federation of FFCCCII (Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce industry Inc).

The  FFCCCII delegation included Angel Ngu, Henry Lim Bon Liong, Domingo Yap, David Chua, Alex Yap Cho Ty, William Gosiaco, Victor Lim, Delfin Letran, Mary Go Ng, Cecilio Pedro, Charles Chante, George Chiu Hock Huy, William Yap Castro, Fernando Gan Tiong Kang, Wilson Ong, Sammy Uy, Samuel Ang, Jaime Cruz, Lorenzo Te, Jr., Cynthia Obillos, Merle Recto and Eduardo Bangayan.
